THINK
ABOUT IT

47.9% of all statistics are made up on the spot.....      Paranoia:  It's everywhere, in fact I think it is behind you right now!     Never tell lies, just choose to omit half the truth....

This site has been "unupdated" for some time...

The reason is that the maintenance on this site is now shocking and I have not got the time to put into all the little details required...

Therefore, for the coming new year, my thoughts will be posted on http://www.clayinfinity.blogspot.com

Feel free to check it out!

See ya on the "other side"

I think I have found one of the funniest links ever... and given it's about our "Man of Steel" Johnny Howard, then it earns double points from me!  Make sure you check out the "Ask John" section! [link]

The Rugby World Cup yawns on... I have really enjoyed the atmosphere at the games but really, we need more competitive games.  I think the average winning margin over the 36 games played to date is in the 30's... way too one sided.

And Bigpond has not fixed itself yet... get ya fingers out!

26 October 2003

It has been a long time between updates... and you can thank Mr Bigpond for that!  Telstra's Bigpond (my service provider) has been down more often than not and whenever I log on to update this site, it just happens to be down.  Also it is taking about 10 days for emails to get to me and their concession is two weeks of free access and also a free trial subscription to their anti-virus and firewall software.  In 30 days, those that don't disconnect the trial start getting billed for this "service".  Cheers Telstra!

But really, the biggest thing to happen to us humble Australians, "Sheriffs of Asia" that we are is our good mate, George W Bush popped in for a quick visit (21 hrs in a country our size is quick).  What did I make of all the "free speech" that was going on?  [rant]

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger... Sure I can understand the Americans going nuts for this story given that they have just elected the second biggest idiot in history (George W Bush being the biggest), but can I ask why it attracted so much press here in Australia?  Other than for voyeuristic  reasons can I fathom why the front pages of our papers had the story... does the LA newspapers go ape for when Bobby Carr wins the NSW State election?

Also, I had the pleasure of going to the Rugby World Cup Opening Ceremony (and match).  For the rest of the 81,349 people in attendance, the ceremony was designed for a world wide audience of several hundred million people on TV.  The fact that a) you couldn't see it properly and b) couldn't understand it with the absence of TV commentary is because it wasn't designed for you.  You idiots who jumped on to talk back radio 20mins after the end of the match to complain about it should be ashamed.

I cannot believe that Israeli planes have attacked targets in Syria?  What are these guys doing??!!  Whilst I don't condone Suicide Bombing, it has to be said that there are two sides to every story.  The US has alot to answer for now as the Israeli's think they too can take "pre-emptive" action against Terrorists... I am now worried how this one will pan out.

On a lighter note, the Penrith Panthers are the 2003 NRL Premiers.  Congrats to them, but I am happier that the Sydney Roosters lost.  The Roosters have done themselves no favours this year by whinging and whining about every little thing this season and given that all League fans where cheering on the Panthers tells alot about what the public thinks of the Roosters and their coach Ricky Stuart!  Sucked in!!

Water restrictions working a treat - we've had virtually 5 days of consecutive rain.  I've had no inclination to go near my garden hose! :)

1 October 2003

I'm back...

Isn't funny how after the driest September in years and on the day that water restrictions start in NSW that it absolutely buckets down with rain!  Now that's irony!

Whilst I was enjoying my sojourn on the NSW Central Coast (just before it bucketed down), I happened to read that our esteemed Treasurer Peter "the Smarmy Grinner" Costello has released a boon for the average tax payer with a final 2003/04 budget surplus of $7.5Bn.  What do I think of that?  Read on...
